Echeveria gibbiflora 'Violescens'

First off, I should point out that this is not an ideal looking specimen, as the colour is usually a rich purple or with a lavender bloom to the leaves. The bronzing of the leaves on my specimen has occurred because it is starved and has been a bit neglected. It has also formed a double head though this is fairly normal for this variety. The species gibbiflora is a fairly old one and has been around since 1828. The 'Violescens' form occurred naturally. It is a tall grower and will form a long stalk from which the thick rounded leaves emerge. It needs de-heading ,that is, cutting the stalk down and replanting whatever rosettes have developed, every few years. Certainly time to do this for this plant if it is to become a robust and well coloured specimen again.
