Lepironia articulata, Blue Rush

Lepironia articulata, Blue Rush in Tomaree National Park
Shoal Bay, New South Wales

Lepironia articulata,Native Blue Rush
This 2.5 metre native sedge grows in wetlands from about Wollongong north into Queensland and the Northern Territory. It is striking in appearance with its steely blue upright foliage and often forms huge swaths across the coastal landscape ,clearly visible if you are driving the Pacific Highway north.. It can be grown in a large pot or container in a home garden pond where it may end up being used as a launching pad for emerging dragonflies.
2017 update: I don't grow it but love it in the landscape.
