Alcantarea glazouiana
The silver grey foliage of this smooth Brazilian Bromeliad really shines in the sun .It is good to grow in coastal sandy gardens as it is able to cope with the windy conditions and likes the well drained soil. Growing to about 1.5 metres x 1.5 metres, it flowers after about 3 years by sending up an impressive 2 metre high spike.
