Some succulents need a really dry climate with no humidity to grow well and this is one of them. At the first hint of too much water, this Cotyledon has the habit of turning black and rotting whether in a pot or in the ground. It also makes tall growth ,losing the stem leaves as it grows up or sprawling outwards when it becomes too top heavy.Regular stem cuttings need to be taken to keep it going ,pushing them into the ground around the parent plant and given no water until they take root. Tricky. but worth growing for the near white curly leaves and occasional pink flowers on a tall stem.
2017 update: I no longer attempt to grow it.
