Plectranthus ecklonii

Plectranthus ecklonii
This 2 to 3 metre tall South African shrub is just coming to the end of its flowering season and is one of those indispensable shrubs to grow in shade and difficult sites. I like this white flowering variety as it looks light and airy in dark garden spots. There are pink and blue mauve forms as well The great thing about most Plectranthus is that they are very easy to grow from cuttings so can be grown by placing a cut stem piece in the ground. It is tolerant of light frost and should be pruned and feed in Spring for good Autumn flowers.
2017 update: I grow it on request as it does not stay looking good in a pot for very long.
