Zantedeschia 'Green Goddess'

Zantedeschia aethiopica 'Green Goddess'
After the first rains of autumn, the Green Goddess lily starts to flower and continues right through winter. I think it is a garden classic plant but many would consider it a weed as it only takes the tiniest piece of rhizome or stem with a few roots for it to grow into a sizable clump in no time .It will grow in shallow water ,sun or shade and will survive dry periods without any trouble at all. The flowers are on long stems and are good for picking with their attractive streaks of green and white. When not in flower, the way to distinguish it from the plain white flowering form is by the look of the leaf ,as Green Goddess has a dull leaf surface.Under ideal growing conditions it will form a clump at least 1.5 metres tall. It can be divided and dug up and moved at any time of the year.
2017 update: I am out of stock at the moment.

  3. It may not be available in Spain because the authorities may be worried about it becoming a weed. It grows even from a tiny piece of root stem
