Clear blue sky ,palm trees and Bouganvillea on a hot summer day

Bouganvillea is well known as a heat and dry loving climber or rambling shrub The old fashioned variety B glabra 'Magnifica Traillii' is particularly useful to grow up big trees where the branches are able to cascade down to brilliant effect when in flower( as per photo below.) When grown up a Jacaranda, flowering will often commence at the same time and a vibrant purple on blue combination can be achieved. Embankment planting is also a good way of using them especially when there is plenty of room for them to sprawl
