Rosa 'Henri Matisse'

Rose, Hybrid Tea 'Henri Matisse'

You would expect a Rose named after Fauvist painter Henri Matisse (1869-1954) to be a fairly wild colour combination. It is splashed and striped in red and white and quite variegated .It is a hardy rose and very free flowering.

  1. I wonder what made the name giver associate Henri Matisse with this rose! Maybe the exuberance of 'The Dance'.
I liked your post on bromeliads. I have some flowering now.

  2. Ian… What a wonderful & unique rose. The brilliant color and design makes it rightly named for sure. Thanks for posting the other photograph, as well.
